This year, Futurestars teamed up with Banbury Howard, an Ipswich and London based marketing agency, to launch the Better BUSiness Appeal, aiming to raise enough money to buy two minibuses for the project in Ghana and Togo.
The fundraising appeal resulted in 20 businesses signing up to help buy one minibus for Ghana and one for Togo and culminated in a gala dinner and auction held at Milsoms Kesgrave Hall on Friday 11th October.
Futurestars is delighted to announce that The Better BUSiness Appeal smashed its target. The aim was to raise £40,000 to buy two minibuses in Ghana and Togo. Thanks to the generosity of all those who supported the campaign, the final sum was almost double! Simon Milton, Director of Futurestars charity was able to travel to Ghana the following week to place the order for the two buses.
Simon commented: “We are so excited about this appeal, as a result we will be able to transport the children we work with safely to events, away matches and even trips to the beach. The schools we support were carefully selected with the Ghana Education Service and help children from some of the poorest communities. Futurestars provides weekly PE, football and netball sessions, pre and after-school clubs, an academy for children showing particular promise and assistance in much-needed refurbishment of the schools.”

Auction prizes were generously donated by: Sumaridge Wine Estates, Lydia Brooks, Hintlesham Golf Club, Titus Bramble and the Stellar Group and Futurestars, who offered a once in a lifetime trip to Ghana.
