Through our incredible partnership with the British High Commission in Ghana, we welcomed 20 crew members from the British Navy vessel RFA Lyme Bay, which is docked at Tema Port, to Future Leaders School. The crew members, alongside a painter from the High Commission, spent an entire day giving back to our community – everyone working together to transform the school’s facilities.
The team worked tirelessly to paint the kitchen, spruce up our converted 20ft container (used as an office and sports equipment storage), and give a fresh look to the school’s wooden classroom block and toilet that were built last year.
It was a memorable day as the crew also spent time during lunch playing with the children and sharing chocolate treats with our youngest in pre-school. They also left a lasting impact with donations of books, diaries, and chairs which will support learning and create more opportunities for our students. We are grateful for this meaningful day and the bond built with our friends from the British Navy.
