On September 20th, the Futurestars Ghana team rolled up their sleeves and joined the brilliant folks at Let’s Do it Ghana at Laboma Beach, near Accra, Ghana, for World Cleanup Day 2025.
Country Manager Emmanuel Okyne Tetteh said: “Side by side with staff, volunteers, and pupils, we picked up plastics, swept the sand, and shared laughter and stories along the way. It wasn’t just about cleaning a beach — it was about teaching care, building responsibility, and reminding ourselves that small actions add up to big change.”
World Cleanup Day is an initiative of Let’s Do It! World, a civic-led mass movement that began in Estonia in 2008 when 50,000 people united together to clean up the entire country in just five hours. Since then, Let’s Do It! has spread this model—one country in one day—around the world. To date, nearly 120 countries and 20 million people have joined us to clean up illegal waste.
