A fantastic fundraising Golf Day was held at the Harleyford Golf Club in Marlow in June. Organised by Tony Pearce (Ex Tullow Oil) in aid of Futurestars a total of 16 teams took part including our corporporate donors and founders OMA Group, and of course Futurestars.
Tony Pearce commented:
“The 18 hole Stableford competition was won by a team of members from Harleyford Golf Club with an impressive 88 points. Cooks and Company, BP Pensioners and Marlow M25 were all joint runners up on 85 points…….well done. Well done Joe Cook for a super Nearest the Pin and proud winner of the Mantrac sponsored CAT cap and first aid kit – I have already heard you are bowled over by the prize! A humongous drive from Andy Carmichael saw him win an Active Power shirt, cap and bottle opener. David Gillan was a very worthy Men’s Individual winner with an excellent South Americanesq 39 points.
Caroline Rees cleaned up on the Ladies’ side with both Ladies Longest Drive and brilliant Individual points win (41)”
Simon Milton added: “My huge thanks must go to Tony Pearce, his drive and passion organised a tremendous day and Futurestars was the big winner with over £5,500 raised – a magnificent amount from our first ever golf day. We will be donating £1000 to the Jamestown Orphanage in Accra as Tony has been supporting the orphanage for many years and we have been helping him with that since he left Ghana. Following the success at Harleyford, we are already planning next year’s Futurestars Charity Golf day!”
