A child’s ability to learn and participate confidently at school can be affected by something as fundamental as their ability to see clearly.
Recognising the importance of children’s eye health, Futurestars Charity, in partnership with M&M Health, has launched a free eye screening programme at Future Leaders School, one of the charity’s partner schools.
The first phase of the programme focused on pupils between the ages of five and seven. Screenings were led by Mawulolo Doe, an Advanced Clinical Optometrist and CEO of M&M Health.
The programme provides an opportunity to identify potential vision concerns at an early stage. Where further attention is required, parents and guardians will receive guidance and support on appropriate follow-up care.
Early identification of vision concerns is particularly important during a child’s formative years, when they are developing essential reading, writing and learning skills.
By bringing eye health support into the school environment, the initiative helps create healthier conditions in which children can learn, grow and participate fully.
The partnership with M&M Health forms part of Futurestars Charity’s wider commitment to supporting children’s health and wellbeing alongside their education.
