Backpacks for 500 children

We are so grateful to Philip Foster and Leonara Dowley who have donated 500 recycled Trashy Bags Backpacks, with the Futurestars logo, for schoolchildren in the Futurestars project.

The bags were donated by AQUA AFRICA water company as part of their commitment to the local community. The bags will be distributed to the school children who take part in the pre and after-school sports clubs at our five partner schools in Ghana. The Trashy Bags are made of recycled plastic water bags and sewn together by local seamstresses to produce an ideal kit bag for children.  They will be used for their football & netball boots, PE kits and water bottles – encouraging the children not mix up their books with their sports kits and most importantly educating them about recycling.

Simon Milton commented: “We are absolutely delighted that AQUA Africa have donated such an amazing amount of bags for the children to use as their sports kit bags. The fact that they are using recycled materials and local seamstresses makes the whole process even more satisfying for us and the local community.”
