Our brilliant educational trustee Geraldine Clarke completed the London marathon in an incredible 3 hours 59 minutes (which put her in the GFA – good for age category) and raised over £2406 for Futurestars!
Geri said: “It was an absolutely incredible day. The event is just so well organised and the support is unreal. The coming together of so many thousands of people for such a positive, inspiring event means that the vibe is one of pure joy, power and hope. Truly fantastic and I loved it! Having said that, I had not carb-loaded enough and miles 21-25 were pretty tough and I was in a world of my own. The thought of raising money for all our schools and beautiful children really kept me going. I kept those images in my head. I have some strong psychological tricks that I use to keep me going during my endurance runs but I was severely tested that day. Would I do it again? Oh yes!”
