A massive congratulations to James Rice & Bruce Rolls, lifelong friends who completed the Valencia Marathon in support of Futurestars this month
After months of hard training miles around the streets of Ipswich, the pair swapped the cold climate of a late autumn in Suffolk for the balmy 25-degree heat of the east coast of Spain and a gruelling endurance run that took several twists and turns.
“We were both utterly spent at the end of the race, but delighted to have finished,” said Bruce, who was pleased the pair were able to cross the line together despite both hitting the dreaded wall around mile 19.
James said, “It was amazing to run for such a great cause. Without that thought of where the money was going and the amazing work it would help to fund, I would have jumped a barrier and headed home a long way before the finish line!”
