The Tour of Suffolk bike ride went off perfectly without a hitch (unless you count one small group getting very slightly lost and putting in a few extra miles!)
Futurestars Director Simon Milton commented: “We have been blown away by the support from so many businesses and individuals, I can’t thank everyone enough and once fundraising is closed in a couple of weeks we’ll do a name call for those businesses who were so generous which kept costs really low, meaning more funds for the charities. We are keeping donations open for another couple of weeks, so if you know anyone who would like to donate please do so here: Everything raised will be split 50/50 (after costs) between Futurestars and the Ipswich Town Foundation.”

Town stars of the past were among a group of more than 40 cyclists completing a 160-mile ride through Suffolk. Former players Simon Milton, Terry Butcher, Matt Holland, Titus Bramble, Kieron Dyer and Luke Varney were part of the group arriving back at Portman Road on Monday evening.
Day one of the trip began at Portman Road early Sunday morning before travelling up through the Suffolk countryside with stops at Eye Co-op, The Black Swan in Homersfield and The Swan in Loddon before finishing at Potters Resort in Hopton-On-Sea.
Day two kicked off at 9am with multiple stops throughout the day whilst travelling down the Suffolk coast. A total of 160 miles were cycled across the two days with all cyclists crossing the finish line at 17:30 on Monday evening
Speaking on Monday, Ipswich Town Foundation Trustee, Matt Holland said “It has been a great experience. There are loads of great people, from all different backgrounds. It’s been brilliant – the camaraderie, the togetherness, the teamwork. It’s been fantastic.”
“The weather has been perfect, the wind has been helpful. The generosity in such difficult times has been phenomenal. We’re really grateful that so many people have been able to help us. It’s been a fabulous effort from everyone.”
