Our huge thanks to James Steele who completed the gruelling 250 km Atacama Crossing – an amazing achievement and at the time of writing has raised an amazing £2371 for Futurestars (the page still stay open until the end of the month – www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/futurestarsghana).
James was actually in the top 5-6 runners until a knee injury on the 5th Stage. Amazingly he managed to make up time and missed 10th place by just under a minute. He was joined by wife Natalie who volunteered on the race as a sweeper – itself an amazing challenge too. A combination of the distance and terrain – crossing salt lakes, volcanoes, lava flows and sand dunes makes this one of the toughest challenges out there.
