Sexual Health Workshops – Accra

In June we ran a sexual health education workshop for teachers with the Netball Development Trust

We know that girls often miss school for avoidable reasons such as menstruation, are forced to drop out due to teen pregnancies and are victims of abuse. We want to equip all young people with the knowledge to make better-informed decisions about their futures.
We engaged with 40 teachers from 33 schools in Labadi and the surrounding areas.  The aim was to promote the importance of sexual health education in schools, particularly for girls who are more likely to drop out, and to introduce a 12-week sexual health curriculum with resources, lessons, presentations and worksheets on key topics decided by head teachers, teachers and children from our area. We can’t wait to visit the schools and see what the children think!
Thank you to Netball Development Trust , Sally Bromley and Paycare for making this possible!
