Princess Avorkah, a student at the Future Leaders School and a beneficiary of our scholarship programme, recently represented Ghana at the Rugby League All-Star event held at Alaro City in Lagos, Nigeria.
After travelling over 450km from Ghana to Nigeria, the 18-year-old scored two tries in a 30–12 match against a strong Nigerian side while representing a combined All-Star team made up of players from across Africa.
What makes this achievement even more remarkable is that Princess only began playing rugby league in 2024 through our programmes delivered in partnership with the Ghana Rugby League Federation. In less than two years, she has progressed from beginner to international representative, showing what can happen when young people are given access to sport, education, and opportunity.
Well done Princess!
