Refurbishment Complete!

A huge thank you to our wonderful volunteers and donors who got stuck into the school block refurbishment last month.  A roll call of fabulous people from Anlo Ladies FC, Aqua Africa,  Aviance, Azar Paints, British High Commission, Accra, Eolis Ghana, Honeysuckle Pub, Lavish Sobhraj, OMA Group, Starbites,Trashy Bags, Yinson, and UK volunteers from Marlow, Suffolk & Sunderland all worked their socks off to transform the environment for the children and teachers.  Thanks too to our wonderful team on the group and the excellent contractors who completed all the skilled work on masonry, walkways, windows and walls ready for our volunteer cleaners and painters.

We had 2 weeks to complete 1 block with 3 classrooms for 130 children with…. 100 volunteers, 140 litres of paint, 60 rollers, 50 brushes, 30 bags of cement, 1 ton of sand, 9 solar panels, 18 ceiling lights and 8 ceiling fans.

We had great attendance at the handing-over ceremony on Monday which included the unveiling of the Tree of Life artwork which was inspired by what we have been able to achieve and what we can aim to improve on since our partnership with the Tema schools began in 2015. Plus we received an appreciation award from the staff & students of Twedaase Primary School and the Ghana Education Office.
“The kindness shown to a child, be the kindness that we will return easily. May we also lend a hand to a child, woman or man.”
