In March this year, representatives from the Professional Football Association of the UK arrived in Ghana as volunteers, bringing not just football, but time, care, and genuine connection over six unforgettable days.
From school visits to coaching sessions and youth engagement activities, the impact went far beyond the pitch and included an unforgettable two day PFA / Futurestars Mini World Cup on March 13th and 15th.
This was a vibrant U13 football event that brought young players together through the power of sport and featured six teams representing the continents of Africa, Europe, Asia, North America, South America, and Oceania.
The teams reflected the heart of our programme, with participation from our partner schools in Tema, the Future Leaders School and one community-based team, Ben Adett Football Academy. Together, they created an exciting and inclusive environment where young talents could compete, learn, and enjoy the game.
After two exciting days of football, Europe emerged as the winning continen and all players received football equipment and playing kits, along with food and drinks, ensuring that each child left not only with great memories but also with the resources to continue playing and developing their passion for the game.
This festival was more than just a tournament, it was a celebration of community, opportunity, and the unifying power of football to inspire and bring young people together. Thank you PFA!
