We are fundraising to buy two Futurestars mini buses, one for Togo and one for Ghana. We’re asking companies to pledge £2k to buy a seat on each bus and as a thank you they’ll be given a table for 10 at a gala dinner being held at Milsoms Kesgrave Hall on Friday 11th October.
The children who attend our partner schools come from some of the poorest communities and previously had no access to PE or sports at school. In addition to the well-documented benefits of a physical education, sport also acts as an incentive for the children to come to, and stay at school. All the head teachers report improved attendance since joining Futurestars.
To further encourage and raise aspirations, we are keen for pupils to participate in sporting matches with other schools and are currently fundraising to buy two buses, one for Ghana and one for Togo.
Having a minibus in each country will enable us to transport students safely and mean that activities need not be limited by locality. Students will also be able to attend events such as sporting festivals and away matches.
