What a fantastic opportunity for our boys – to play a show case game during half time at the @BHCFCGHANA v Parliament of Ghana game at the Accra Sports Stadium last month.
Two teams made up of a mix of Futurestars and the British High Commission boys & girls played in a 7 aside game, enjoying massive support from the parents and other spectators who had come to see the game at the National Sports Stadium.
The match is one of the British High Commission Football Team’s (BHCFC) regular games and the Parliament team had come back for revenge after the BHCFC beat them last year. This was BHFC’s last game before their season’s Award Gala at the Movenpick Hotel. The game ended 2-2, with the BHCFC team winning the penalty shoot out.
In the evening the Futurestars team were delighted to attend the BHFC’s annual end of season awards night. In amongst the awards given out that evening was Goal of the Season which was awarded to our own project manager Emmanuel Okyne-Tetteh for an astonishing overhead kick during a game at the Tema stadium.
We are always grateful for the fantastic support Futurestars receives from our friends at the British High Commission. The boys loved the opportunity to play at such a prestigious venue amongst such great company – thank you!
