We love it when friends of our charity spread the word. Amy Ryan is the sister of Jane Ryan, who came out to volunteer with us earlier this year.
Amy is currently in her first year of studying at ATU Sligo in Ireland. As one of their assessments, the students were asked to pick a UN sustainable goal.
Amy got together with four friends; Erin Somers, Darragh Grehan, Alex Koukalova, and Dylan Clancy, and chose education as the goal and Futurestars as the charity.
Amy commented: ” We wanted to find a way that we can positively impact a place or a group of people regarding education. Our group felt strongly about this UN Sustainable Goal. We wanted to support the education and well-being of students. We wanted to know we were fundraising for a good cause and that whatever was raised would be used in a beneficial way towards the charity we chose.
Our group decided to make a positive impact in relation to our chosen goal by setting up a fundraiser, thankfully our lecture provided an area in the canteen for us to spread awareness and raise money for the charity. We successfully raised £377 for the and really enjoyed working with this charity and learned a lot, we hope to work more with Futurestars in the future.”
Thank you Amy, Erin, Alex, and Dylan your support is appreciated and we’d love to welcome you out to Ghana any time!
