Charity Golf Day at Harleyford Golf Club

We hosted our third Charity golf day at the wonderful Harleyford Golf Club in Marlow on Monday July 8th. The home course of professional golfer Tyrrell Hatton the course is always a challenge and this day was no different. 18 teams battled it out for 18 holes and the eventual winners were crowned after dinner during the presentations.

The Golf Day is organised and hosted by Tony Pearce, a contact charity director Simon Milton made in Ghana over five years ago. Tony has been a huge supporter of Futurestars since then and this will be the third annual fundraising golf day he has organised in aid of Futurestars. This year we also contributed to a local charity – a youth enquiry service (YES) in Wycombe that supports youngsters with mental health issues, something close to the heart of many of the local golfers.

Following the hotly contested golf there was a raffle and auction to help raise additional funds and we thank everyone who contributed by donating prizes. Presentations about Futurestars and the YES charity were made to the group as every penny raised goes directly to the people who need it most – some in Ghana some locally in Wycombe.

The Prize winners were as follows

1st Place Team – Afentra
2nd Place Team – Warm Days in New England
3rd Place Team Harleyford

Best Individual Male – James Lawson Baker
Best Individual Female – Leslie Ingram

Nearest Pin 12 – Pete Kelly

Congratulations to everyone who took part we have raised over £8500 for the charities and we will see you all again next year!
