We were presented yesterday with a very generous donation from the British High Commission football team who collected donations at the Royal Wedding Party for Prince Harry & Megan in the summer of 2018.
Futurestars has a long term relationship with the BHC FC and we provide them with kit and sometimes players for their very well supported matches. Their 5 a side team won the Partners tournament at the last Festival in Tema in October and will be back again in 2019 to defend their trophy. The BHC Team led by Manager Ian Byrne and British High Commissioner Iain Walker represent the BHC in Ghana and are always taking their team to play friendly games against local opposition as a way of building community relationships and goodwill. We are delighted to have them on board as Friends of Futurestars and look forward to many more matches and events with them in the future.
With their permission we are donating some of the funds they raised to the Akwaaba Volunteers Uniform Project in Accra, the balance has been allocated to providing new school equipment for our five partner schools in Tema including exercise books, pencils and stationery.
