After ten months we are over the moon to see so many children back in school. Our five partner schools in Tema are open in a restricted capacity meaning we can’t yet restart PE classes but we can offer after-school sports sessions for smaller groups of children at the Tema Sports Stadium.
This is the first term for our new partnership with the Future Leaders School in Accra. From January we began to plug the funding gap working with the current stakeholders and as well as contributing to teacher salaries we are providing 120,000 schools meals this year. Full tummies = happy children!
Our partner school in Lomé has been open for a little longer and we are now finally allowed to run school PE sessions again. We’ve been running after-school sessions all through lockdowns but the coaches are so pleased to get a little bit of normality back with PE and football training back on the curriculum.
