Graines du Togo – Futurestars Agoe wins big!

Congratulations Futurestars Agoe!

Fechale Tchagnao from our U17 team in Togo was crowned the 2019 overall winner of the National Youth Talent Competition, “Graines du Togo”

Futurestars’ Kanda Bilansama Mariette (Girls U16) won the best goalkeeper of the competition.

Tchamdja Modeste (Boys U13)  came third at the end of the final ranking in his age group.

This is the second year of this talent award begun by national coach Claude Marie François Leroy last year and the boys were competing against some 10,000 young people participating from all the five major regions of Togo, and under the guidance of 780 coaches specially trained for the competition.

This is an astonishing achievement for Fechale and his prize will be to attend the European Champions League Final in Madrid, Spain later this year along with Gake Ami Queen of the Ahe club who was crowned champion of the girls competing.

The finals took place on April 20th at the Municipal Stadium of Lomé and a total of 150 boys and girls took part.  During the competition the apprentice footballers are put through their paces with four workshops including technical tests, physical, tactical and mental.

This is another example of the day to day training these children are receiving as part of the Futurestars Agoe project. The hard work and determination from our coaches and players is reaping great rewards.

The event was heavily covered by the Togolese press: Togo Presse 230419_fsa_graines togo
