Futurestars Charity and the Rida Cup are creating new opportunities for children through golf.
The Rida Cup at Celebrity Golf Club is about more than a golf tournament. As the event’s charity of choice, the Rida Cup is partnering with Futurestars Charity to create meaningful opportunities for children from our partner schools.
The journey began when pupils from Twedaase Primary School were introduced to golf for the very first time. For many of the children, it was an opportunity to try a new sport, learn new skills and experience an environment they had never been part of before.
Since then, the opportunity has continued to grow.
Pupils from Twedaase Primary School and Future Leaders School have been training ahead of the Kids Chipping and Putting Tournament on September 26, which forms part of the Rida Cup.
Twedaase pupils have been training at Tema Sports Stadium, while pupils at Future Leaders School have been training at their school. Future Leaders also recently held its first golf training session, led by Futurestars Charity Country Leader Emmanuel Okyne-Tetteh.
The children will also have the opportunity to experience Celebrity Golf Club as they prepare for tournament day, giving them a chance to develop their skills and build confidence in a new sporting environment.
At Futurestars Charity, we believe sport can be a powerful tool for development. Through sport, we help keep children engaged in school while creating opportunities to develop confidence, discipline, teamwork and new skills.
What started as an introduction to golf is becoming a continued journey of learning, participation and opportunity.
We are grateful to the organisers of the Rida Cup and Celebrity Golf Club for choosing Futurestars Charity and helping us create new opportunities for children across our partner schools.
The tournament may be on the golf course, but the impact can go much further.
