This year, the end of term at the Future Leaders School was celebrated in a special way with the Futurestars Geordie Christmas Party. Thanks to the generosity of one of our regular volunteers, who fundraised in his local community, the children enjoyed a memorable Christmas send-off.
Our (Geordie!) donor has previously visited and worked at the school, giving him first-hand insight into school life, and he was keen to help give the children a fun Christmas party. Working alongside Mabel, the head teacher, we carefully planned a day full of celebration using this generous donation.
The morning began with prayers and a warm welcome, followed by a Christmas song from the school choir and poetry readings. Emmanuel Okyne-Tetteh, our Country Manager, then shared a short message with the school.
Throughout the morning, awards were presented for academic achievement, behaviour, and sports, recognising both individual students and whole classes. These were interspersed with games and fun activities involving both teachers and students, including a hotly contested dance competition and an eating challenge.
After class and award-winner photographs were taken, food was served, and the real party began. The children enjoyed food, drinks, face painting, bouncy castles, and music—all fully funded by our incredibly generous donor.
What a fantastic way to end another successful term at the Future Leaders School!
