We had to say some goodbyes to some good friends at the British High Commission in Accra as Ian & Gemma Byrne and their two children Thomas and Megan are leaving Ghana for pastures new in July. Ian has been an amazing ambassador for Futurestars since we first met back in 2018. His passion for our project and the children we support is remarkable and he is going to be sorely missed by everyone at Futurestars. Two of our Future Leaders children; Jesse and Bright were set a school challenge by Ian to complete over the past year. They passed with flying colours and Ian’s family were delighted to present them with new bikes as a reward. They have also committed to fund both boys throughout their education until they turn 18, another example of their wonderful continued support.
Also leaving in July is the British High Commissioner Iain Walker, Iain has also been an excellent supporter of Futurestars and it was good to spend time with him on and off the golf course. We will continue to stay in touch and keep him updated with the work we are doing.
This month we were able to invite many of the British High Commission staff to the Future Leaders School to see first hand the work we are carrying out and we would like to extend our thanks to Dave, Alun and Mark from the from the British High Commission for their offer of continued support.
