OMA Ghana was incorporated in 2009 and the directors felt strongly that they wanted to give something back to the community in which they worked.

Since 2015, Futurestars has worked with five schools in Tema, Ghana to deliver weekly sports programmes for boys & girls, delivered by full time qualified coaches Silas Donkoh and B. Asare Wilson, who also run the after-school Development Academies for children showing particular promise in football and netball at the Tema sports stadium.

Futurestars also assists with the refurbishment of the participating schools.

The primary schools we work with are Baatsona, Community 8/1, Community 7/1, Republic Road and Twedaase. The schools were chosen in consultation with the Ghana Education Service and we work closely with heads of all the schools to monitor progress and track outcomes of the programme. Many staff at OMA Ghana and Yinson get involved in the programme in different capacities, but the day to day management of the project is carried out by Emmanuel Okyne-Tetteh, who volunteers his time away from his busy day job.

The annual Futurestars Festival of Sport has become a hugely popular fixture and attracts teams from throughout the area and across the border into Togo.
