Two companies from very different industries and backgrounds came together to start the Futurestars project in 2015 – OMA Group and Yinson Production WA.  As we start 2018 we’re delighted to welcome two new partners on board – Fendercare Marine and Hapag-Lloyd.

OMA Ghana has been the driving force and co-ordinates all the local Futurestars activity.

As well as managing the project, overseeing the coaches, liaising with the schools, OMA staff have been actively involved in repainting projects at the schools.

OMA Ghana Ltd was incorporated as a local Ghanaian company in May 2009, and has established a firm foothold in the maritime and oil & gas industries in Ghana with offices in Tema, Takoradi and Accra. We provide ship agency and husbandry services to tankers, bulk carriers, cruise & navy vessels and coordinate

with cargo receivers involved in tramp operations. Our licensed logistics division serves the entire sector and offers solutions for mining, oil & gas, energy & Infrastructure, project cargo, exhibition goods, commercial cargo, temporary imports and LCL; by air, sea and road, including across borders to Mali, Burkina Faso and Niger

Yinson Production WA have been closely involved in co-ordinating and providing initial funding for a refurbishment programme at the five schools in Tema.

As one of the world’s leading Floating, Production, Storage and Offloading (FPSO) service providers, Yinson sets standards in the way offshore oil and gas production is managed through a modern fleet of purpose-built offshore production assets and offshore support vessels with a track record of operational excellence.

Yinson’s partnership with OMA began in 2014 when they formed a joint venture with and together won the bid to build and operate the OCTP Floating

Production Storage and Offloading unit (FPSO) for Italian energy company ENI. In 2015 the OMA Ghana-Yinson JV was awarded the lease, operations and maintenance contract for 15 years, with a 5 year additional option. The FPSO arrived in Ghana this year and operations commenced a full three months ahead of schedule.
