PLAYER – IPSWICH
Terry is an English former professional footballer and manager. During his playing career Terry captained the England national team, winning 77 caps in a ten-year international career that featured three FIFA World Cups. He also enjoyed success in his club career, particularly with Ipswich Town and Rangers. He has subsequently managed clubs in England, Scotland, Australia and Wales. Terry was appointed a Trustee of the Futurestars Charity in July 2017 and visited Tema for the first time in September 2017 to work with the coaches and children and attend the Festival of Sport.
Simon joined Ipswich Town as a player in 1987 and went on to play 330 games scoring 56 goals. He was part of the team that won the Second Division Championship and promoted to the inaugural Premier League in 1992. He was voted Ipswich Town’s player of the season in 1996 and retired in 1998. After 19 years working for the Ipswich Town Academy Simon was appointed Futurestars director in 2017. He has visited West Africa many times over the last few years and is the driving force behind the expansion of the project.
TITUS BRAMBLE (AMBASSADOR – LEAD COACH)
Titus Joined the Ipswich Town Academy as an Academy player in 1998. His position was a central defender and he played in the Premier League for 13 consecutive seasons for Ipswich Town, Newcastle United, Wigan Athletic and Sunderland before retiring from professional football in 2013. He transferred from his boyhood club Ipswich Town to Sir Bobby Robson’s Newcastle for £6 Million. Since retiring from playing he has been coaching in the Ipswich Town Academy for the last four years and has travelled out to Ghana and Togo for the last two years to spend several weeks working with the Futurestars coaches and the children.
